Back to Black, by Amy Winehouse (2006)

Ginny’s Top 10

The second and final studio album by English singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, Back to Black is a raw, personal album which explores themes of grief, guilt, infidelity, addiction, and trauma. The album saw tremendous commercial success and is currently the second best-selling album in the UK (following 21, by Adele).  In 2025, it was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Recording Registry as a “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” work. “Rehab” was the only song from the album to make it into the US Top 10 and was largely underappreciated by Ginny at the time of its release.

Favorite tracks include: “Back to Black,” “Tears Dry on their Own,” “Love is a Losing Game,” “Me and Mr. Jones,” “Wake Up Alone,” and “You Know I’m No Good.”
