This selection should surprise no one. Dave has long insisted that, song for song, this is the greatest rock and roll album of all time. From Pete Townshend’s iconic opening power chord on “Baba O’Riley” to Roger Daltry’s greatest rock-n-roll scream of all time just prior to the perfect closing couplet of “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” this album gives us nine killer tracks with no filler. For Dave, the surest sign of this LP’s greatness is that as difficult as it is to identify a “best” track here (probably one of the two above or “Behind Blue Eyes”), it’s far tougher to name a “worst” track. “My Wife”? “Love Ain’t for Keeping”? “Going Mobile”? These songs are better than the BEST songs on most of the albums ever made!
Favorite tracks include: “Baba O’Riley,” “Behind Blue Eyes,” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”
